## Billing questions

### Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Creating an account is free and gives you a one-time credit grant to try Flash. A paid plan is only needed once you're ready to keep building.

### What are AI credits?

Every AI generation spends a small number of credits based on the model work it takes. New accounts get a one-time trial grant; paid plans get a fresh monthly grant that renews on your billing date.

### How does annual billing work?

Annual plans are billed once per year and save you roughly 20% compared to monthly. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time from your billing portal.

### Do I own everything Flash generates?

Completely. Every token, component spec, CSS file, and ZIP export belongs to you - use it in client work, commercial products, or open-source projects.

### Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No lock-in.

### What happens if I run out of credits?

You can buy a one-time credit pack any time - pack credits are valid for 12 months and stack on top of your plan's monthly grant - or upgrade to a plan with a larger monthly grant. Monthly plan credits are valid for 2 months, and we always spend your soonest-expiring credits first.

### Do I need a plan to use the community gallery?

Browsing is free for everyone - every published system is fully visible, including its tokens, type and components. Taking one with you is part of every paid plan, starting with Spark: forking it into your account, exporting it to Figma, and the machine-readable token feeds (registry.json, tokens.json, tokens.dtcg.json, kit.md). Systems you publish yourself always stay yours to download.
